Challenge: Having grown through a series of mergers and acquisitions, space technology company, Maxar, a specialist in the manufacture of satellites and related equipment, found that IT program delivery, such as O365 deployments and system consolidation was becoming more complicated. Multiple management systems, numerous AD forests, and inconsistent standards impeded programs and introduced risk into the IT environment. The company wanted to cut complexity and risks and the time and cost for delivering IT programs and chose ReadyWorks for its flexibility, native integration, robust support, and ability to streamline the O365 migration.

ReadyWorks enabled this through:

  • System Integration: ReadyWorks connected to multiple AD forests and domains, various management platforms and systems of record.
  • Data Intelligence: ReadyWorks aggregated and cleaned data from the disparate systems and provided a command and control system that provided the intelligence required to identify migration readiness as well as what needed investigation. With all AD information consolidated in one location, IT project managers could plan effectively and could see progress and identify issues through clear dashboards.

  • Orchestration & Automation: ReadyWorks central command and control was used to execute several programs including an AD consolidation and O365 migration. Maxar benefited from ReadyWorks automation through its ability to identify mailbox delegates to ensure they were migrated in the same wave as well as dynamic user scheduling, based on system readiness.

As each program was brought online ReadyWorks ingested more data – continually improving its ability to help the IT Project Management Team see through the noise. Internal IT programs that were stalled for long periods of time because of data difficulties were able to enter the project portfolio.
